Description:
Opened to the public in 2004, Playa Caletita is one of the few beaches spoting
a lifeguard tower with a city lifeguard on duty daily. It's located just half a
mile south of the hotel Plaza las Glorious on the Beach Road, and also very close
to the colonias of San Miguel I and II. The jungle hides a footpath that islanders
in town frequently take to be at the water's edge in 10 to 15 minutes. This lazy
beach has mostly nice sand and sun to offer, with a few palapas and a sporadically
open concession stand, so bring your own entertainment if you require more. Most
of the reefs close to the beach have been destroyed due to all the foot traffic,
but there are some good for snorkeling a bit further out.
