This rocky stretch of coastline is home to resorts in the North Hotel Zone. The four-mile area, which turns into Playa Santa Pilar, is a favorite among guests for sunbathing, watersports and relaxation. Calm waters allow for excellent snorkeling and steady winds provide ideal windsurfing opportunities. For a tropical drink or a bite to eat, you can go to one of the many hotels on the strip. In the high-season the crowds can be overwhelming. If you seek solace, head to the beaches on the eastern side of the island. Admission is free.
